This is my third day.  It is 1:37, so I am half way through the third day, and this is not hard at all.  When I weighed myself this morning I was down 2.5 pounds.  That is pretty good.  I am happy about this.  I went to bed around mid night and woke up at like seven thirty, just awake I guess.  I had something with sugar alcohols in it last night and my stomach was PISSED at me.  It was trader joe's low carb dark chocolate with almonds.  It is super low carb and satisfying, but boy oh boy did I pay for it.

This morning I watched Dr. Eric Westman give a lecture about the keto-diet just to remind myself of all the things I need to do or might have missed.  It was great and he is kind of an adorable  geek of a doctor.  He is lovely and kind.  But he reminded me, especially in the beginning to keep my carbs at 20 or under.  Good reminder how little things at up.  A tick tack container holds 36 tick tacks and they are half a carb a piece, so if you had the whole thing in a day, that's 18 carbs.  Yikkes.  Good thing I don't like tick tacks.

Well I am home alone right now, so I have been looking up fun low carb recipes to use here in the near future, did some sun bathing and am going to work tonight.  I'm feeling good so far!  :)

Ok, so I am going to do a challenge for myself the next 23 days and thought journaling about it would be helpful.  I could hand journal, but there is something nice about putting your thoughts out to the world through a blog.  I have never blogged before, so maybe I am wrong about this, but anyway.  For the next 23 days I am going on the wagon (no drinking) and eating a low carb/ paleo type lifestyle. I am not an alcoholic or anything, I go on the wagon successfully for weeks on end with no DT's at all, lol!  I just like drinking, it is relaxing and fun.  My boyfriend is out of town so this gives me all the concentration I need.  He went back to our hometown for a visit and I am meeting up with him in 23 days from yesterday.  So, I am also just going to work as much as possible and save up some money.

I know the low carb/ paleo approach is the best way to do any of this.  I have done so much research that it is ridiculous.  It all started when I watched Fat Head, which was phenomenal and you can watch on Netflix instant watch.  Then I started researching and found the amazing Jimmy Moore who hosts a blog called livin-la-vida-low-carb.  Which has tons of information.  He interviews the people I would call the celebrities in the low carb world.

Saying all this to say that I know all the answers and what to do, I just now need to DO them.

So, yesterday was my first day and I did great.  Ate low carb and worked all day and didn't drink and it was SO not hard.  I went to bed early and got 8 hours.  It was funny though because I woke up feeling more groggy this morning then when I am slightly hung over.  Probably my body detoxing.  I think it takes a good solid three days to get your body into ketosis, and properly detoxed from the sugar and carbs, and for me, alcohol.  I weighed myself this morning and I was exactly the same, but no biggie.  Looking forward to an awesome day.  I have also decided that I am going to find non-food, non-drinking ways to treat myself and to also be social.  Have you ever noticed that almost all social events are all about food and drinking?  Well, that is all for now.  Here's to an awesome day!
